CROOKSTON, Minn. - Freshman Heidi Lensing led the Minnesota State University Moorhead Dragons with 12 kills in the team's win over the Minnesota Crookston Golden Eagles on Saturday in a three-set match (25-20, 25-21, 25-19).

Lensing led both teams in kills and was part of a Dragons offense that hit .340 in the match. Laura Tvrdik added nine kills while Mary Sussenguth completed eight of her attacks. Leigh Splittstoesser and Anna Olson split time at the setter position as the Dragons ran a 6-2 offense, with 26 and 18 assists each, respectively.

The Dragons defense was also strong against the Golden Eagles as libero Katy Ness led the team with 12 digs and Ashley Pyfferoen trailed her with 11. The net defense was lead by Kristen Kleven with one block solo and two block assists. Sussenguth and Tvrdik also put up a combined five block assists while Tvrdik had one solo.

This is the second time this season that the Dragons took a three-set match from the Golden Eagles, the last coming on Sept. 15. MSUM moves its overall record to 16-8 and are 6-5 in the NSIC.

MSUM will step on the court again on Friday, Oct. 23 against the Winona State Warriors at 7 p.m. in the Alex Nemzek Fieldhouse.
