ST. CLOUD, Minn. - Junior
Laura Tvrdik led the Minnesota State University Moorhead Dragons volleyball team with 17 kills over the St. Cloud State Huskies in a three-set victory on Friday evening.
Tvrdik's 17 kills were a season high in a three set match. She also had three block assists in the match.
The Dragons won their 20th match of the season, moving their overall record to 20-9 and 10-6 in the league play. MSUM handed SCSU their 23rd loss of the season, to move the Huskies overall record to 7-23 and 3-15 in the NSIC.
MSUM had eight total blocks in the match, with
Kristen Kleven leading the force with five block assists.
Mary Sussenguth had the only solo block and assisted on two.
Freshman
Heidi Lensing also aided the team with 13 kills hitting .385 in the match. The Dragons had 49 total kills, with 47 assists.
Leigh Splittstoesser had 40 assists and 11 digs.
Katy Ness led the team with 24 digs.
The Dragons will face the No.1 ranked Concordia-St. Paul on Saturday in St. Paul at 4 p.m.
