MOORHEAD, Minn. — The Minnesota State University Moorhead wrestling team ran into the No. 2-ranked team in the nation on Friday night and fell to St. Cloud State, 44-3 in a Northern Sun Intercollegiate Conference dual Friday night at Nemzek Fieldhouse in Moorhead, Minn.

MSUM fell to 5-5 overall and 0-3 in the NSIC with the loss while St. Cloud State improved to 9-1 overall and 1-0 in the league.

The Dragons, ranked No. 24 in the latest Basford rankings, got a win from No. 2-ranked Blake Bosch at 133. Bosch is now 23-5 on the year.

The Huskies, who had three wrestlers in the lineup ranked No. 1 in the nation in their respective weight classes, recorded four pins and a win by technical fall on the night.

Junior Isaac Novacek had a competitive match at 149 for MSUM, falling to Curt Zachmeier 7-2.

Bosch's win came with a hard-fought 2-0 decision over SCSU's Jarred Oftedahl at 133 pounds to close the match (the dual began at 141).

St. Cloud State was the fourth nationally-ranked opponent in the last five duals for MSUM, which hosts Augustana on Jan. 29.
