BISMARCK, N.D. — Wins and NCAA provisional performances from juniors Caitlin Pritchett and Sophia Sowada led the way for the Minnesota State University Moorhead track and field teams at the Marauder Winter Festival hosted by UMary on Saturday in Bismarck, N.D. The Dragon women won six events at UMary while the men won five.

Sophomore Shyrone Kemp won the triple jump at the SDSU Indoor Classic with an effort of 49-2 1/4. Junior Chris Cook finished fourth at SDSU tying a season-best jump of 6-8 3/4.  MSUM assistant coach Trevor Barry, competing unattached, won at 7-0 3/4.

At UMary, Pritchett won the high jump at 5-6 1/2 which is a provisional qualifying jump and lifetime-best. That is tied for fourth best in the NSIC this season along with senior teammate Rachel Schumacher, who was third in the high jump at 5-6 1/2.

Sowada had an NCAA provisional qualifying score in the pentathlon, posting a winning score of 3,314. That is the fourth-best score in the NSIC this season. 

Freshman Robynn Curry won the 400 in 59.28 and added a win in the 200 in 26.13.

Freshman Payton Lane set a PR in the 5,000 meters in picking up the win with a time of 18:25.88. Sophomore McKenzie Maki won the 800 in 2:26.08 which was a personal-best.

Senior Nadir Yusuf won the 5,000-meter run in 14:38.40 which is the fastest time in the NSIC this season. Senior Clay Jackson won the 60-meter hurdles in 8.44, just .04 seconds away from a personal-best. 

Adnew Stueven won the 1,000 meters in 2:36.60 which was a personal best. Freshman Sam Morgenstern (2:36.65) and sophomore Dylan Pierson (2:37.68) also ran personal bests in taking second and third, respectively.

Sophomore Braxton Bruer won the mile in 4:21.88, which was a lifetime-best, with junior Carson Speicher also running a lifetime best of 4:22.46 to take second.

MSUM's 4x400 relay won in 3:26.35 with Speicher, Bruer, Jackson and sophomore Kendrick Major teaming up for that victory.  That time is third-best time in the NSIC this season. 

Junior Hunter Roseborough was second in the shot put at 48-3 1/4 while senior Tanner Berby was third at 46-5 1/4. Junior Jerron McDonald was second in the weight throw at 51-10 1/2.

MSUM is scheduled to compete in a dual at Concordia College next Saturday.
