Final Results by Weight Class
MOORHEAD, Minn. – Minnesota State University Moorhead senior Braydon Ortloff and freshman Gage Roaldson each finished fourth in their weight classes at the Super Region V meet which was held on Saturday at Nemzek Fieldhouse in Moorhead, Minn.
 
Ortloff, in his final weekend as a Dragon, barely missed out on a second trip to nationals, taking fourth at 165.
 
Ortloff was locked in a tight battle with UMary's Leo Mushinsky in the third-place match at 165. Ortloff led 3-2 late in the third period but Mushinsky scored a takedown in the final seconds to earn a 4-3 victory. 
 
Ortloff lost his first match of the day to Augustana's Miles Fitzgerald, but got rolling in the wrestlebacks. He erased a 6-0 deficit against Minnesota State's Michael Smith to record a pin in 3:55, and then followed with a pin of Northern's Kelby Hawkins in 4:50 to reach the third place match. Ortloff finished 6-7 on the season.
 
Roaldson had a good day to take fourth at 184. Like Ortloff, he lost a tough contest in the third-place match. Roaldson fell to Northern's Treyton Cacek, 3-1 in a close third-place match.
 
Roaldson also lost his first match, falling, to eventual finalist Reece Woracheck 8-0, but battled back to beat Upper Iowa, 7-3 in his first consolation match. He followed with a 12-9 win over Gavin Christofferson in the next round, and then upset second-seeded and No. 5-ranked William Pitzner of St. Cloud State, 7-5 (sudden victory) to reach the third-place match.
 
Junior Cole Jones went 1-2 at a stacked 133-pound weight class. He beat Northern State's Christopher Williams, 9-0 in the first round before losing UMary's Reece Barnhardt, who is ranked sixth in the nation, 8-1 in the quarterfinals. Jones saw his tournament end with an 11-4 loss to SMSU's Hunter Pfantz.
 
Junior Samuel Grove also went 1-2 at 285 for MSUM. He lost to Minnesota State's Darrell Mason, 13-6 but came back with an 8-3 win over Parkside's Ben Hakes. His day was ended by a technical fall loss to UMary's Gerardo Jaime.
