GRAND FORKS, N.D. – For the third consecutive week,
Robynn Rolle-Curry has rewritten MSUM's record book. Rolle-Curry broke the indoor 200m school record and nationally qualified in the event at today's UND Open.
It is the third consecutive meet in which Rolle-Curry has broken a new school record. Her 24.59 in the event is the 12
th fastest in Division II this season and it qualified Rolle-Curry for the NCAA Indoor Championships.
Shyrone Kemp and
Ashley Hokanson also picked up event wins for the Dragons at today's meet.
The Dragon women placed ninth as a team with 25.5 team points.
Sprints/Hurdles
Robynn Rolle-Curry continued to rewrite the record books as she would run a scorching 24.59 in the indoor 200m. That broke the previous MSUM school record of 24.98 set in 2018 by Judith Robinson. That time also qualified Rolle-Curry for the NCAA Indoor Championships in the event. The time was also a new facility record inside the Frederick D. Pollard Jr. Athletic Center.
Elliott MacLennan placed fourth in the men's 200m, running a 22.01, which is now the fifth best time in school history.
Shaquiel Higgs would run a 22.50 in the same event to finish eighth.
Ty Dawkins was the top finisher for MSUM in the men's 400m run. Dawkins clocked in a time of 50.19 to finish eighth.
Shaquiel Higgs ran a flat seven seconds in the 60m dash to finish fourth in the event.
Throws
Jordan Nolan placed tenth in the shot put for the Dragons with a best throw of 46'-11.75".
Darius Sechen had the top finish for MSUM in the men's weight throw, tossing a 39'-02.5" to finish 16
th.
Jumps/Vaults
Shyrone Kemp won the men's long jump with a best jump of 23'-08.25", winning the event by over a foot.
David Daniels would place eighth in the same event with a jump of 20'-06.5".
Ashley Hokanson continued her undefeated streak in the pole vault, winning the event with a vault of 13'-03.5. It is Hokanson's third pole vault win of the indoor season.
Sydney Bahls finished eighth in the same event with a top vault of 9'-06.25".
Mickalyn Babcock finished fourth in the women's high jump with a top leap of 4'-11.75".
Sophia Sowada would place eighth in the same event with a jump of 4'-09.75".
Middle Distance/Distance
Brooke Baumann finished 12
th in the women's mile run with a time of 5:26.28. Baumann also ran in the 800m, checking in with a time of 2:30.06 which was good for 18
th.

MSUM will next compete close to home turf as they will partake in the Bison Open in Fargo on February 3 and 4.
