VERMILLION, S.D. –
Robynn Rolle-Curry and
Ashley Hokanson each set new MSUM school records while a bevy of Dragons set new personal-bests across all events at the USD Early Bird.
The meet concludes a busy weekend of MSUM, who also had competitors at the South Florida Invitational in Tampa.
Shyrone Kemp put in NCAA qualifying marks in the long and triple jump (winning the triple jump) in Florida while
Ibrahim Oduong ran the third-fastest 400m in school history. Read the full recap

Hokanson broke the school's outdoor pole vault record that had stood since 2008 with Rolle-Curry breaking the outdoor 200m record that has stood since 1989.
Sprints/Hurdles
Robynn Rolle-Curry continued her streak of success by resetting the MSUM school record in the 200m with a time of 24.05 to finish fourth. The mark bests the previous record held by Ann Kiecker (24.2) set in 1989. The mark is also an NCAA qualifying time. Rolle-Curry also placed 13
th in the women's 100m dash with a time of 12.08 which ranks within the top ten in school history. Today was the first time Rolle-Curry has run the 100m collegiately.
Jerome Crayton set a new personal-best in the men's 200m with a time of 22.23.
Shaquiel Higgs clocked a new collegiate best in the 110m hurdles, running a 15.96 .
Logan Kletscher set a new personal-best in the men's 100m with a time of 10.95.
Isaiah Johnson did the same with a time of 11.43 along with
Elkan Johnson, who ran a 11.44.
Jumps/Vaults
Ashley Hokanson kicked off her outdoor season with a fourth-place finish in the pole vault on Friday. Hokanson had a top mark of 13'-09", which reset the MSUM school record held by Jennifer Hensel (13'-07.25") set in 2008. It is the second time Hokanson has broken a record once held by Hensel this season. Early in the outdoor season, Hokanson's vault is the second-best in all of Division II.
Alyssa Ohm set a new personal-best in the women's long jump with a top mark of 15'-8.75" while
Mickalyn Babcock matched her personal-best with the same length.
Throws
Ben Oie tossed a 39.66m in the men's hammer throw to set a new personal-best.
Katelyn Zaiger and
Codi Bunting each threw the discus on Friday with Bunting setting a new collegiate personal-best of 31.77m. Both competitors also threw the shot put on Friday with Bunting also setting a new indoor and outdoor personal-best of 31.77m.
On Saturday,
Jordan Nolan set a massive personal-best in the discus throw. Nolan tossed a 47.75m to top his previous best mark of 43.82m
Middle Distance/Distance
Adnew Stueven won the men's 3000m steeplechase with a time of 9:20.72 as fellow teammate
Colin O'Farrell placed seventh. The freshman clocked in a 9:55.76 in the event.
Jared Gregoire and
Braxton Bruer did what they do best in the men's 800m run: dominate. Gregorie won the event with a 1:49.71 time which was a hair off of the school record time of 1:49.51. Bruer finished right behind Gregoire with a 1:49.90 time, a new outdoor personal-best. Both competitors clocked in NCAA qualifying times in the event.
Kaelyn Berg set a new collegiate personal-best in the women's 5000m run with a time of 19:04.20.
Abbie Christen did the same for MSUM, running a 19:55.87, an improvement from her previous best of 20:16.39.
James Dorado ran a 15:25.11 in the same event on the men's side to finish sixth.
Joel Brault clocked a 16:20.37 in the same event to set a new 5000m personal-best.

MSUM gears up for a huge week of meets out West. The Dragons are scheduled to compete at the Mt. SAC Relays (Walnut, Calif.), the Bryan Clay Invitational (Azusa, Calif.) and the Beach Invitational (Long Beach, Calif.) from Wednesday until Saturday.
