SMITHVILLE, Mo. – MSU Moorhead golf had its best team performance of the weekend as the Dragons wrapped up play at the NSIC Golf Championships on Sunday morning.
The Dragons finished the tournament in 12
th place as a team with a 54-hole score of 1099. MSUM shot a 356 over the final 18 holes, an 18-stroke improvement from day two at Paradise Pointe.
Charmaine Haas would lead the Dragon charge on the final day, shooting an 84 across the final 18 holes of her collegiate career. It is a season low score for Haas, who was again steady throughout her round. Haas had six pars in her round but did not register a single double or triple bogey. The Napoleon, N.D., native earned a par on the 474-yard par-five 11
th hole to highlight the stretch.
Halle Balluff would wrap her strong tournament, improving her day two score by a stroke to earn an 85 on her scorecard. Balluff's round featured four pars and a par of birdies, one of which coming dangerously close to a hole-in-one on the par-three 10
th hole. The sophomore also collected a birdie on the par-four 18
th hole which spanned 320 yards.
Erin Summerbell would also knock in a birdie of her own in a final round that saw her shoot a 93 overall. Summerbell would earn the birdie on the par-four eighth hole at Paradise Pointe, which stretched 356 yards. The senior's round also featured three pars.
Regan Braun would get in on the birdie collective as well, penciling in a three on the par-four 15
th hole (374 yards). Braun would close her season shooting a 94 overall.
Ellie Fischer would shoot a 97 in the final round of her career for MSUM. Fischer had two pars in the round on a pair of par-four holes. The senior would jot down even scores on the first (349 yards) and 12
th holes (325 yards).
