JOPLIN, Mo. – Minnesota State Moorhead cross country was led by
Katelyn Kennedy and
Chase Hoechst at the NCAA Central Region Championships on Saturday. Hoechst earned all-region honors for Moorhead.
In the women's 6k,
Katelyn Kennedy again paced the Dragons, clocking a 23:21.61.
Madison Kepner would register a new personal best for MSUM in the same race, marking a 24:07.79, nearly 40 seconds faster than her prior best. Kaela Traugoot would mark a 25:09.70 in the race while
Lezah Dean registered a new personal best of 25:28.34.
Sophia Ness would conclude the Dragon scoring with a time of 25:45.26.
Eden Andres would register a new personal best as well, clocking a 27:29.24.
Chase Hoechst led the Dragon men, earning all-region marks behind a 24
th place finish. Hoechst clocked a 10k time of 31:24.47, a new cross country 10k best. The performance moves Hoechst to eighth all-time in program history.
Jared Gregoire would finish with a time of 32:41.77 while
James Dorado was right behind his teammate at 32:53.22.
Salman Mohamed would clock a 33:32.28 for the Dragons while
Seth Meikle rounded out the MSUM scoring with a time of 33:38.9, a new personal best.
Luke Buentello (34:02.9) would also register a personal best for the Dragons.
