WAYNE, Neb. – Minnesota State Moorhead cross country was highlighted by an NSIC title-winning run from
Jared Gregoire at Friday's conference championships. Gregoire was also named the NSIC Men's Cross Country Athlete of the Year with the performance.
The Dragon women would place 11
th as a team with 323 points. MSUM's men's team finished runner-up with 73 points.
Katelyn Kennedy would pace the Dragon women, finishing in 22
nd place with a time of 23:07.8, a new season best.
Madison Kepner would be the second MSUM finisher, marking a 6k time of 24:47, a new personal best.
Kaela Traugott would clock a season best 25:15.9 for the Dragons with
Sophia Ness not far behind at 25:28.6.
Lezah Dean would round out the Dragons scoring with a time of 26:22, a new personal best. Freshman
Eden Andres would set a new personal best with a time of 27:58.2.
Gregoire would win his first individual conference championship in the men's race behind a time of 24:58. The redshirt sophomore was the lone runner to turn in a sub-24-minute finishing time. Gregoire is the first individual champion for the Dragons since Dane Moreland in 2005.
Chase Hoechst would earn All-NSIC honors with a fourth-place finish, marking a 25:11.7.
Salman Mohamed would also earn all-conference honors for Moorhead, finishing 20
th overall, running a 26:12.6.
Colin O'Farrell (26:20.79) and
James Dorado (26:20.99) would round out the Dragon scoring, finishing 25
th and 26
th respectively.
Seth Meikle would clock a personal best time of 26:23.13 to finish in 28
thplace.
