JAMESTOWN. N.D./LONG BEACH, Calif. – MSU Moorhead track & field saw solid marks at a pair of meets on Saturday afternoon. The Dragons competed at both the Al Cassell Classic and the Beach Invitational.
Sprints/Hurdles/Relays
Adla Serrao would win the women's 100m hurdles behind a time of 15.51.
Tylah Pratt would place third in the same event with a mark of 16.75. On the men's side in the 110m hurdles,
Gerald Melin would win the race with a personal best time of 17.53.
In the women's 100m,
Brihonne Cargill would capture an event win with a personal best sprint of 12.41.
Desiree Loyd (12.51) and
Nevaeh Coffer (13.00) would also set personal bests, finishing third and fifth respectively. On the men's side,
Caden Spence (10.96) would win the event for the Dragons.
Hunter Miller (11.17) and
David Daniels (11.23) would place fourth and fifth respectively.
In Long Beach,
Shavantae Roberts would finish 15
th amongst 41 competitors in the 100m dash. The junior clocked a 12.15 time to earn the placement. Cargill would place second in the 200m, clocking a personal best time of 26.12.
Liv Birkeland would win the women's 400m with a time of 1:02.71 while
Frosty Wisnewski won the men's race behind a time of 52.26.
Jumps/Vaults
Gerald Melin would win men's high jump in Jamestown, clearing 6-02.75 (1.90m) while
Mac Kunza set a new personal best with the same clearing.
Tate Rasmussen placed fourth in the same event, jumping 6-00.75 (1.85m).
Kilee Bladow would earn runner-up marks on the women's side, leaping over 5-01.25 (1.56m).
Desiree Loyd and
Hunter Petersen would clear over identical 4-11.50 (1.51m).
At the Beach Invitational,
Jaiden Peraza would lead MSUM's efforts in men's high jump, clearing 6-08 (2.03m). The performance earned Peraza a sixth-place finish with the junior placing first among Division II competitors.
Tylah Pratt would see a strong showing in women's long jump, winning the event behind a personal best leap of 18-08.5 (5.70m). The jump comes in as the fourth-best long jump in program history.
McKenna Schreiber was equally impressive, earning runner-up marks with a personal best effort of 18-03.75 (5.58m). The mark improves on the sixth-best jump in MSUM history.
In men's long jump,
David Daniels earned a third-place finish with a leap of 22-07 (6.88m).
Kade Larson would win men's triple jump with a top effort of 40-05.5 (12.33m). Schreiber would win triple jump on the women's side, leaping 35-10 (10.92m), a new personal best. The jump is also the ninth-best triple jump in school history.
Jazmin Barry would place 20
th in the long jump at the Beach Invitational with a jump of 18-05 (5.61m). In Long Beach,
Rollie Hanna would have a top triple jump of 47-07.25 (14.51m), which is the seventh-best in school history.
Leya Teicher would collect another event win in women's pole vault, going over 10-04.25 (3.51m).
Katelyn Utecht would see a runner-up showing in the same event, clearing 9-10.5 (3.01m).
Hunter Miller and
Nicholas Huss would each clear 12-05.5 (3.80) on the men's side with Miller winning the event with less failures.
Throws
Both
Ben Nyreen (43.40m) and
Jack Stewart (43.14m) would see new personal bests in men's hammer throw. Nyreen would place fifth while Stewart earned a sixth-place finish.
Codi Bunting would be the top finisher on the women's side, tossing a personal best 138-04 (41.18m) to place fourth.
Katelyn Zaiger (41.60m) would finish in fifth in the same event. Zaiger would also place fourth in discus with a throw of 113-06 (34.61m).
In women's javelin,
Sam Azure would nearly mark a new personal best, throwing 113-07 (34.64m) for a seventh-place finish.
Kiley Kranz would win women's shot put with a top throw of 40-05 (12.32m).
Landon Nicholas would place ninth in men's discus behind a personal best throw of 116-07 (35.54m).
