MOORHEAD, Minn. -- Minnesota State Moorhead track & field concludes the 2026 outdoor regular season this Saturday at the Cobber Open in Moorhead. Events from Jake Christiansen Stadium are scheduled to begin at 1 p.m.

Jacobson Continues To Dominate...Sophomore
Justin Jacobson won six more events last week to move his total to nine for the month of April. Jacobson earned a pair of wins in the discus at the Viking Twilight (48.77m) and the Al Cassell Classic (45.53m). The Pelican Rapids, Minn., native also swept the shot put (16.46m, 16.55m) and hammer throws (52.85m, 54.37m) at both meets. Jacobson also placed third in javelin at the Al Cassell Classic, tossing 162-08 (49.58m).
Kranz-erific...Junior thrower
Kiley Kranz also saw a strong week of competition at a pair of meets for Moorhead. Kranz claimed two shot put victories at a pair of meets last week, winning the event at both the Viking Twilight (13.44m) and the Al Cassell Classic (12.82m). The Osakis, Minn., native also finished runner-up in both the hammer throw (44.81m) and discus (37.36m) at the Viking Twilight. Kranz earned third-place marks in hammer throw at the Al Cassell Classic (44.38m).
Distance Runs Strong...At the Gary Wilson Invitational, Moorhead's distance contingent saw strong marks.Â
Chase Hoechst would lead MSUM's efforts in the men's 5000m invitational run, winning the event with a finishing time of 14:56.32. In the men's 1500m open run,Â
Ivar Martell would claim runner-up marks for Moorhead at 4:13.16.Â
Jared Gregoire would lead a healthy Dragon contingent in the men's 800m run. Gregoire would claim runner-up marks with a time of 1:54.13.Â
Jadon Boots would finish in third with a mark of 1:54.20.
Top Tens Registered...During a busy week of competition, several Dragon women registered top ten times in a multitude of events. At the Al Cassell Classic,Â
Emma Jamison would earn a spot in the all-time top ten of the women's 3000m steeplechase. Jamison placed runner-up with a time of 11:58.83, now the 10
th-fastest in MSUM history. At the Gary Wilson Invitational,Â
Ahniesha Presulme would again lead the Dragons in the 100m hurdles, clocking an outdoor best time of 14.42. The sprint ties Presulme for fourth all-time in MSUM history. Also at the Wilson Invite,
Cipriana Jones would collect an outdoor best in the women's 200m dash. The true freshman finished at 24.70, which now stands tied as the seventh-fastest mark in program history.
Forget The Wind...At the Gary Wilson Invitational, Moorhead saw three student-athletes set top ten marks in the NSIC this season.
Jones would mark a personal best 11.93 in the 100m dash (+4.3 m/s wind aid), which now ranks ninth in the league this season.
Presulme popped a massive triple jump of 39-10 (+4.6 m/s wind aid), a mark that ranks third in the conference this season. Lastly,
Brandon Pemberton clocked a 100m personal best of 10.39 (+5.6 wind aid) which stands as the best in the NSIC this season.
(NOTE: In order to qualify for MSUM school records, marks must hold a wind aid of +4.0 m/s or fewer. In order to qualify for NCAA records and provisional status, marks must hold a wind aid of +2.0 m/s or fewer).Â
In The Rankings...The Dragon women were slotted 21st in the Central Region in the most recent USTFCCCA Outdoor Checkpoint. Moorhead's men were ranked 15th in the region per the USTFCCCA this week.Â
