Roesler Leads Dragon Golfers at Final Day of NSIC Championship

SMITHVILLE, Mo. -- Led by an 84 from junior Kamie Roesler, the Minnesota State University Moorhead women's golf team shot its best 18-hole round of the tournament at the final round of the Northern Sun Intercollegiate Conference Championship, which concluded Sunday at Paradise Point Posse in Smithville, Mo.

MSUM shot a score of 373 on Sunday, five shots better than its previous best round it shot on Saturday. The Dragons finished 11th in the team standings with a 72-hole score at 1,548.

Roesler shot a final-round 84 to finish at 353 (88-89-92-84) for the 72-hole event, which began with two rounds last fall in Brainerd, Minn. Roesler finished 22nd overall, just one shot out of a top 20 finish.  

Freshman Paige Erickson carded a final round 95 to finish at 388 (96-96-101-95), while senior Amanda Northwick wrapped up a solid weekend with a 91 to finish at 395 (107-113-84-91). Rounding out the Dragon finishers were sophomore Shannon Deutsch at 412 (102-106-101-103) and senior Jennifer Kurtz at 456 (122-122-100-110).

Augustana won the event with a final score of 1,279. Allie Ostrander won the individual title with a 313.
