Battling stifling humidity and high temps, the Dragon men went out a conservative pace, hoping to move past the competition in the later stages of the race. Young went through the first mile of the five mile race in 120th place. Sophomore teammate
Nadir Yusuf took the race out a little quicker running through the first mile in 40th place. Already having passed 80-plus runners, Young really started to move after the 5k mark, picking off an addition 37 on his way to the finish. Young caught Yusuf at the 6k mark pushing Yusuf to his 28th (26:45) place finish.
Freshmen
