MOORHEAD, Minn. – Minnesota State University Moorhead interim athletic director
Chad Markuson has announced that the interim title has been removed from Head Volleyball Coach
Bob Jones, who has received a multi-year contract.
Jones has served as the MSUM interim head coach the past two seasons; the 2020 season was cancelled because of the Covid-19 pandemic.
"I am excited for the future of Dragon volleyball," Markuson said. "Coach Jones has done a great job leading our program the past couple years with the turmoil of Covid and has assembled a team of players and coaches that will continue to elevate the program."
Jones has been a part of the Dragon coaching staff since 2016 when he was named the program's top assistant coach.
"I am super excited and honored to be named to the MSUM Dragons volleyball head coach," Jones said. "My staff and I are working hard with our student athletes to build a competitive and successful program that competes with grit, heart and humility in the classroom and on the court."
Jones was the top assistant coach for 17 seasons at Concordia College and also was an assistant at North Dakota State from 1994-99.
A native of Anaheim, Calif., Jones is a graduate of Chapman College.
