RESULTS

MARYVILLE, Mo -- The Minnesota State University Moorhead women's golf team finished 17th in the two-day Midwest Classic, hosted by Northwest Missouri State. The Dragons finished with a team score of 749 with freshman Ady Tysdal pacing the Dragons with a 185 (98-87).

The story of the two-day tournament was most certainly the weather, which brought along wind gusts of up to 30 miles per hour. The course's approximation to nearby Lake Mozingo only exacerbated the cold, gusty winds. At tee-off time on day one, the temperature was a brisk 37 degrees in Missouri. 

Never the less, the Dragons were able to turn in some respectable cards by tournament's end. Tysdal's second-round 87 was the best score overall for MSUM. However, sophomore Charmaine Haas was also able to play a solid second-round despite the conditions. The Napoleon N.D., native shot an 89 in the final round, finishing with a 190 overall score and a pair of birdies for the tournament.

Day one saw Madison Braun (93-93) emerge for the Dragons, notching 10 pars overall in the tournament, three of them in her first nine holes. Senior Callie Krause (98-93) was able to close out her second-round strong with a birdie on the par-four 17th at Mozingo Lake Golf Course. 

"I'm extremely proud of every one of the girls, they showed extreme grit and grind as they battled the rough elements," said Dragon head coach Chelsey McGinnis. 

The Dragons have now concluded the fall portion of their schedule and will begin again in the spring.
