MOORHEAD, Minn. — Minnesota State University Moorhead athletic director Chad Markuson has announced that Ryan Milner has received a three-year contract extension to continue as Dragon head track and field and cross country coach.

Milner has served in that role since 2017. Prior to that, he was head cross country coach and associate head track and field coach at MSUM from 2013-17, and was an assistant coach at MSUM from 2011-13.

During his time at MSUM, Milner has coached 17 Division II All-Americans, 101 All-NSIC honorees and 48 All-Region Performances. He guided the Dragon men's cross country team to three straight trips to the national championships.

MSUM track and field has set 31 school records during Milner's time as coach. The Dragons also won events at the Drake Relays for the first time, winning the women's distance medley relay and the men's 10,000 meters.

Milner is a 2003 graduate of Dana College and earned his Master's degree in Organizational Leadership from Chadron State in 2008.  His previous assistant coaching stops included Valley City State, Chadron State, Soka and Dana
