MANKATO, Minn. – MSUM had seven all-conference performances to conclude the NSIC Indoor Track & Field Championships. By meet's end,
Braxton Bruer,
Jared Gregoire,
Shyrone Kemp and 4x400 relay team had all grabbed conference championships for the Dragons.
MSUM's men placed third as a team with the Dragon women finishing 12th as a team.
Sprints
Robynn Rolle-Curry placed second in the women's 400m with a time of 55.17 to reset her own school record for the third time this season. With the performance, Rolle-Curry earned all-conference distinction in the event. Rolle-Curry would grab her second all-conference nod later in the day by placing third in the 200m dash. Her time of 24.66 was seven-tenths of a second shy of her school record.
Elliott MacLennan (49.44),
Ibrahim Oduong (49.79) and
Kendrick Major (50.23) would finish fourth, fifth and sixth respectively for the Dragon in the men's 400m. MacLennan would earn all-conference distinction in the 200m, running a 22.06 to finish third.
Thomas Kern placed eighth with a time of 23.25.
Relays
The 4x400 relay team earned all-conference distinction after placing second in the event. The team of
Thomas Kern,
Kendrick Major,
Elliott MacLennan and
Ibrahim Oduong ran a 3:17.99 which would have been an NSIC record had it not been for Mankato's 3:17.49 to take first.
Jumps
Shyrone Kemp won the men's triple jump with a leap of 49'-03" to win by just under one foot. It is the fourth consecutive season where Kemp has won the triple jump at the NSIC Indoor Track & Field Championships.
Middle Distance/Distance
Braxton Bruer added another conference championship to his weekend with a win in the 800m. Bruer ran a 1:53.40 in the event to capture the title and all-conference honors.
Lane Dullum placed seventh in the same event with a time of 1:57.65.
Jared Gregoire followed suit in the men's 1000m run, clocking a time of 2:27.76, winning the event by nearly two seconds. The time is the third best in MSUM history as Gregoire won his first individual conference title.
Adnew Stueven (2:32.27) and
Colin O'Farrell (2:33.47) finished fourth and eighth respectively.
Multis
Logan Kletscher placed eighth in the men's 60m hurdles portion of the heptathlon running a 9.08.
Colby Larson ran a 3:00.19 in the 1000m portion of the event to finish eighth.
In the women's pentathlon,
Mickalyn Babcock (9.33) and
Adla Serrao (9.38 finiished fifth and sixth in the 60m hurdles portion.
Sophia Sowada placed eighth in the high jump portion with a leap of 5'-01.25". She also placed fifth in the shot put leg with a 35'-09.5" throw and seventh in the 800m.
Throws
Jordan Nolan set a massive personal best in the men's shot put, launching a 50'-03.25" on his second attempt. Nolan's previous indoor best was 46'-11.75" and the throw is also the 10
th best in MSUM indoor history. With the toss, Nolan would finish ninth in the event.
