JOPLIN, Mo. – MSU Moorhead wrapped competition at the annual NCAA Central Region Championships on Saturday morning.
The MSUM men finished 10
th overall as a team behind 310 points. The Dragon women finished 21st in the team standing with 577 points.
Adnew Stueven would lead the Dragons to open the men's 10k. Stueven clocked a 31:21.6 to finish 23rd overall. The mark is a massive new personal best for the senior with the time being the seventh-fastest 10k in program history. The top-25 finish earned Stueven All-Region distinction.
Chase Hoechst would clock a 31:38 to place 36
th for MSUM. In his first collegiate cross country 10k, Hoechst set a mark that is now the ninth-fastest in program history.
James Dorado would register a 32:27.6 with freshman
Salman Mohamed working towards a 32:29.9 time. Fellow freshman
Zane Guderjahn would clock a 32:39.2 to finish just behind Mohamed.
Janis Riekstins would clock a 32:47.9. To round out the Dragon contingent,
Colin O'Farrell ran a 34:00.4.
On the women's side,
Grace Dorsher would pace MSUM as the senior crossed the line at 22:34.44.
Katelyn Kennedy would be MSUM's second finisher with a time of 23:00.92.
Abbie Christen would run a 23:36.68 while
Brooke Baumann clocked a 24:05.68.
Sophia Ness would cross the line with a time of 24:37.51, a new personal best for the freshman. Rounding out the Dragon competitors was
Kaela Traugott (24:55.57) and
Madison Kepner (25:40.72). The time for Kepner was a new personal best.
