FARGO, N.D. – Minnesota State Moorhead track & field saw several top ten finishes and personal best efforts at the Bison Open & Multi across Friday and Saturday.
Multis
To open competition on Friday,
Ahniesha Presulme would turn in a fifth-place finish in the 60m hurdle portion of the women's pentathlon. Presulme set another personal best of 9.18 in the race, which improves on the eighth-fastest in program history. The redshirt junior would earn eighth-place marks in long jump, leaping 16-05.25 (5.01m). Presulme finished 10
th overall with a score of 2712.
In the men's heptathlon,
David Herath would place ninth in the 60m leg, clocking a personal best 7.52. Herath would also register a collegiate best in the shot put portion, tossing a 36-02.75 (11.04m). The true freshman would place 10
th in long jump with a top mark of 18-08.75 (5.71m). Herath would sit in ninth place with 2251 points after Friday's competition.
To open Saturday's competition, Herath clocked a personal best 8.97 in the 60m hurdles. After a 10
th-place finish in pole vault, the freshman sat in eighth place overall with one event left to be contested. Herath would place seventh overall with a total score of 3880.
Sprints
Moorhead would see some strong showings in Friday's men's 200m, led by
Brandon Pemberton. The sophomore would sprint a 22.12 for runner-up marks while teammate
Isaiah Tandoh would finish third. Tandoh crossed the line at 22.26 for a new collegiate best. On the women's side, Moorhead would see a trio of personal bests from
Allysah Larson (25.70),
Cipriana Jones (25.73) and
Brihonne Cargill (25.90). The trio would finish sixth, seventh and ninth respectively.
Pemberton would continue his strong meet on Saturday, qualifying for the 60m finals with a preliminary time of 6.93. Tandoh would narrowly miss qualification, placing 10
th in prelims with a time of 7.07. Pemberton would place third in the finals with an improved time of 6.90. As for the Dragon women, Larson (7.86) and Jones (7.88) would qualify for the final heat. Jones (7.82) would place fifth in the finals while Larson (7.88) placed seventh.
In the men's 400m dash,
Frosty Wisnewski would place sixth behind a time of 50.75.
Christalea Wagner would pace the Dragons in the women's 400m, clocking a 59.73 to place ninth overall.
Jumps/Vaults
Jaiden Peraza would shine again for the Dragons in men's high jump on Saturday, winning the event with a monster clearance of 7-0.25 (2.14m). Peraza's leap matches his personal best and is currently the seventh-best high jump in Division II this season.
Jasiah Hambira and
Tate Rasmussen would each clear 1.99m for the Dragons as well. The effort for Rassmussen is a new personal best. In Saturday's women's high jump,
Hunter Petersen earned fifth-place marks with a clearance of 5-02.5 (1.59m).
Rollie Hanna would see a strong day on Saturday in men's triple jump, marking an NCAA provisional leap of 48-0.5 (14.64m). Hanna would place third in the event with the mark now standing as the fourth-best in program history.
Aidan Fitts (13.04m) would place 10
th in the same event. Presulme would earn another win in the event on the women's side, leaping a 38-04.25 (11.69m) while Larson (11.65m) placed runner-up. Larson's effort was a personal best and will stand within the top five in program history.
McKenna Schreiber (10.86m) would place seventh in the same event.
On Friday in women's pole vault,
Leya Teicher would lead the Dragons with a top clearance of 10-10.25 (3.31m) for an eighth-place finish.
Noah Novotny would collect fifth-place marks on the men's side with a personal best clearing of 14-11 (4.55m).
Nicholas Huss (4.25m) would place eighth for the Dragons as well.
In men's long jump action,
Hunter Miller would lead the Dragons with a personal best effort of 21-04.25 (6.51m). Moorhead's women would see three top-10 finishes in the same event, led by Larson (5.46m) who placed fifth. Schreiber (5.31m) and
Tylah Pratt (5.20m) would place sixth and seventh respectively.
Throws
In Friday's men's weight throw competition,
Justin Jacobson would lead the Dragons again, offering up a top throw of 54-10.75 (16.73m). The effort led to a seventh-place finish for the sophomore.
Jack Stewart would mark a new personal best in the same event, tossing a 52-07.5 (16.04m) to place 10
th. On the women's side,
Kiley Kranz led the Dragons with a top attempt of 46-08.25 (14.23m) while
Hailey Neumann (12.92m) set a new collegiate best.
Jacobson would earn a fourth-place finish in men's shot put on Saturday, hurling a 55-05.75 (16.91m). Kranz (12.53m) and Neumann (12.51m) would lead the Dragon women in the event with Neumann's mark being a new personal best.
Distance
In Friday's 1000m run,
Jadon Boots would collect third-place honors for MSUM, marking a 2:30.94.
