MSU Moorhead Athletics

A four-time All-American, Ailts was arguably the best thrower for the Dragons men’s track and field program and one of the most dominant athletes in the program in the early 1980’s. He set school records in both the Indoor and Outdoor shot-put, in which he earned All-American status in 1984, both marks that still stand as the top tosses in program history. He also became an All-American at the NAIA Outdoor National Championships in the discus throw in 1984.
